Water Removal Santa Ana – Sprinkler Malfunction

Here is a scenario that our team can help for restoration. A business customer called for help with a problem in one of his commercial properties. The unit had recently been renovated and was scheduled to be ready for a new tenant in a week. One of the sprinklers was damaged during renovations. The sprinkler malfunctioned at night when no one was around. The next morning, there was water everywhere on the new carpeting and one wall. He was concerned the tenant might back out.

The commercial grade carpet was brand new, and there was no danger of delamination or lifting from the concrete floor. The carpet would need to have been replaced if the carpet and backing had separated. Our client appreciated our efforts to salvage this new flooring material.

Wall Damage from Water Wicking
Only one wall was affected. The owner opted to remove all of the drywall, exposing the structure. We suggestged a flood cut, only cutting out about two feet from the floor to limit the rebuild and downtime. We were able to dry the exposed structure quickly. The wall was an interior wall without insulation. The owner felt that taking our approach would enable a faster recovery with a brand new section of wall installed.

Owner Met His Deadline
SERVPRO used air movers to blow air over the wet carpet, and dehumidifiers to remove the remaining moisture from the room. The combined effort of the client, the fast response of our SERVPRO team and contractors rebuilding one wall allowed the tenant to move in on schedule.
